Norwegian Cookies
Ingredients: 1 cup of butter, 1 cup of sugar, 1 egg, 2 cups of flour, 1 teaspoon of almond extract, and maraschino cherries, halves
Instructions
Cream the butter and sugar. Add eggs and mix well. Stir in flour and almond extract. Chill dough for 1-2 hours. Make dough in balls the size of small walnuts. Flatten dough on a cookie sheet. Press half of a cherry on top of each cookie. Bake for 15 minutes at 350 degrees. Let it cool off for a few minutes.
